Amadare connects time-block planning, focus and breaks, mood check-ins, and reflection. This page explains how to get started and what to check when something does not work as expected.
1. Supported devices
Amadare is intended for Mac, iPhone, and iPad, with macOS 14 or later, iOS 17 or later, and iPadOS 17 or later. Also check the App Store compatibility information for the distributed version. Apple Watch is not included in the initial release.
Basic planning, timers, and records do not require a separate Amadare account. Purchases and restoration require an Apple Account; iCloud sync requires signing in to iCloud and an internet connection.
2. Create your first plan
- Complete the introduction and choose your Usage Analytics and Crash Diagnostics preferences, then open Home. You can use the basic features with both options off.
- In Plan, choose a date and place Blocks for focus, breaks, or other activities on the timeline. Select a time block to change its start, end, or Block.
- Start the day's plan from the current activity on Home or the Now action. Depending on the device, Plan also offers an action to start the plan.
- Now shows the current Block, the next Block, and the remaining time. Blocks with Pomodoro enabled alternate between focus and breaks.
- At the end of the day, leave a Day Mood and review your time blocks and totals by Block in Home or Records.
Records helps you review your time blocks and mood. It does not automatically determine what work you actually did or how focused you were.
3. Free and Amadare Pro
| Feature | Free | Pro | | --- | --- | --- | | Planning, regular timers, mood check-ins | Unlimited | Same | | Standard Blocks | Use and edit all standard Blocks | Same | | Pomodoro | Unlimited, with adjustable focus, break, long-break, and set-count settings | Same | | Custom Blocks | Cannot create or edit; can place ones created while Pro was active | Create and edit | | Records display | Most recent 7 days, including today | Full history, with week, month, and year views | | Visual effects | Amadare and NONE; preview other effects | Apply all effects | | Cross-device sync of plans and records | Not available | iCloud sync | | iCloud video transfers | Not available | Explicit upload and download with sync enabled |
The most recent 7 days means today and the preceding 6 days, using your configured start of day. It does not mean the current Sunday-to-Saturday or Monday-to-Sunday week. Older records are not automatically deleted when they fall outside the display range.
When Pro expires, your plans, records, custom Blocks, and imported videos are retained. Creating or editing custom Blocks and syncing become unavailable, and Records returns to the Free display range. Your Pro effect selections are retained, while a Free effect is used for display.
4. Notifications, sound, and Mac full-screen alerts
The App explains notifications and asks for permission when you first start a session. Timers remain available without permission. If notifications do not appear, check the OS notification settings, Focus mode, and the App's settings.
On Mac, full-screen alerts can mark a Block start or a Pomodoro break. You can change them in Settings. Closing an alert does not stop the running timer. Turning off Alerts at the bottom of the Mac navigation stops sounds and automatic full-screen alerts.
Timing may vary with the App's state, OS behavior, sleep, and notification settings. Returning to the App during a break restores its state in Now rather than showing the full-screen alert again.
5. iCloud sync and media
To sync plans, Blocks, mood and review records, Pomodoro settings, and other supported data, use the same iCloud account on your devices and check that Pro and iCloud Sync in Settings are enabled.
If sync does not work, check connectivity, available iCloud storage, and any error shown in the sync status. The Apple Account used for purchases and the account used for iCloud are separate settings. Turning sync off does not delete data already stored on the device or in iCloud.
Focus-completion history also syncs only with Pro and iCloud Sync enabled. Turning sync off stops pending work and preserves existing history. See the Privacy Policy for the information involved and how settings apply.
You choose which images, videos, and audio files to import. To use a video on another device, upload it with Pro and sync enabled, then download it on the other device. Image files and imported audio are not included in this video-sync feature.
Removing a video from this device and removing it from iCloud and all devices are different operations. The latter also propagates deletion to other devices. Devices with sync off or no connection may not reflect deletion immediately.
6. Purchases, restoration, and cancellation
New Pro purchases are monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscriptions. No free trial or Family Sharing is offered. Check the price and duration shown at purchase.
If a purchase is not recognized, sign in to the App Store with the same Apple Account used to purchase and use the restore action on the purchase screen. Existing valid lifetime-purchase entitlements can also be restored.
Cancel through Apple's subscription management. Deleting the App or turning iCloud sync off does not cancel a subscription. Request refunds through Apple.
7. Deleting data and privacy preferences
Manage plans and imported media through the relevant edit or delete action. The iCloud data deletion action in Settings under Sync lets you delete data from iCloud alone or also remove the corresponding data from this device. Read the confirmation and select the scope you intend. If deletion fails, check the error and retry.
Deleting iCloud data does not cancel a purchase, issue a refund, or delete feedback, analytics, or diagnostics already sent. Original photos, videos, audio files, and backups you created must be managed separately.
Usage Analytics and Crash Diagnostics are off by default and can be changed independently in Settings. Saving an off setting stops collection and transmission for that option. Unsent diagnostics are discarded and local analytics data is reset. See the Privacy Policy for information already sent.
